The Kanne concept

The distinctive philosophy that is at the core of all Kanne products is summed up in the so-called Kanne concept as follows:

Since all of our efforts are focused on the well-being of humans, we have to also see to the environment, plants and animal nutrition because mankind cannot survive without pure foods as well as clean air and water. It is up to us now to improve the environment and preserve it for the generations to come.

The Kanne family never attached a great importance to breaking new ground and has never focused on anything else but the well-being and healthy nutrition of humans beings. Staying true to the skills and the craftsmanship the trade requires and that have been passed down from generation to generation is the focal point for this family. "We were organic long before people knew what organic was."

Kanne never blends or mixes different batches with one another just to achieve consistency across their properties. We deliberately leave the product as it is. We neither add anything nor take anything away. From time to time, Kanne is given the well-meaning advice to add one chemical additive or another to our fermentation process in order to obtain a consistent result. However, it is exactly this type of advice that runs contrary to our corporate philosophy. We leave our Organic Kanne Bread Drink® exactly the way it is.

"If we added just one infinitesimal thing, the final product would no longer be our Organic Kanne Bread Drink®", explains Wilhelm Kanne. "We do not meddle in the process even if the final result varies as we could, otherwise, no longer claim that we produce an honest and authentic product. Kanne Bread Drink – always slightly different!

Being a natural product, our Organic Kanne Bread Drink is subject to natural variations. Any variations in flavour or inconsistencies in colour are not due to production flaws but the result of the natural manufacturing process.

When asked about the differences between the individual batches, Wilhelm Kanne, inventor of Organic Kanne Bread Drink, responded:

"Even though we add the same ingredients to all batches of our bread drink and subject them to the same production process, the variability in nature is reflected in the variations we find in our Kanne Bread Drink.
